CEMINAR  Hold a ceminar, as part of JVA Festa '08.

There will be held a ceminar from 14:00 to 17:00 on Nov. 1st which is Saturday, at Seikatsu-Kobo,
Culture Life Information Center on 5F of Carrot Tower, Sangen-jaya, Tokyo.
Yohei Taneda will lecture for this ceminar, "Creativity of art, in a film of 'THE MAGIC HOUR'" as part of JVA Festa.

EVENT  Summer Festival "Fantomatico!" at HUIS TEN BOSCH, Nagasaki starts on Jul. 19th.

Fantomatico! started last year and it has now become a signature summer event of
HUIS TEN BOSCH. It's held from Jul. 19th through Aug. 31st on this year.
Yohei Taneda has worked on this event as a Production Designer last year, and he
continuously participats to the latest event, too.

There are many food stalls, steel drum performance and Polynesian dance performance on 
the stage, and beautiful fireworks with laser burst across the sky in the fantasy space.
Please come and feel this totally new but also nostalgic world for you all.

EVENT  Yohei Taneda will have a talk show at GHIBLI MUSEUM, MITAKA

Yohei Taneda will have a talk show called "TRIP for Petit Louvre" at the visual exhibition hall of GHIBLI MUSEUM,
MITAKA. It will be started from 17:00 on Jul. 11th which is Friday.
He will talk about the trip to Louvre Museum in Paris, to undertake information gathering for his exhibition
"Petit Louvre" that now is held at GHIBLI MUSEUM, MITAKA and untold story behind making up the exhibition.
Navigator for the talk show is Kiyofumi Nakajima who is the curator of GHINLI MUSEUM, MITAKA and also went to
Paris with Yohei Taneda.

Yohei Taneda will also have an autograph session to mark the anniversary releasing "TRIP for the FILMS"

An Event featuring Kohki Mitani "Magic Props of Kohki Mitani" is held From 2008.06.13 Fri. to 06.25 Wed.
at LOGOS gallery, Shibuya PARCO part.1. His latest film "The Magic Hour" is now showing on the theater and
a Magazine "BRUTUS" is now featuring Kohki Mitani.

A miniature of Paradise street in the illusionary town called Sukago, for the film "The Magic Hour" is displayed.
There are also many photos in the film and movie props, too.

EXHIBITION  "Petit Louvre" from May. 24th 2008

Exhibition "Petit Louvre" at GHIBLI MUSEUM, MITAKA is held from 2008.05.24 to 2009.05
(currently scheduled). Yohei Taneda participates as a Production Designer.
The exhibition is produced under the supervision of Goro MIYAZAKI who is a director of
"Gedo senki". He also is a draft planner and work out the project.

The theme of this exhibition is for children to get an opportunity to see the splendid paintings
displayed at Louvre Museum in Paris. So the all paintings for "Petit Louvre" are reduced into 40%.
The space has created that you can feel the dark history of Louvre Museum.
Please come with your family together and feel the small world of Louvre Museum.

2008/05

TV PROGRAM  "Cambrian Palace", The set has been redesigned.

TV program, called Nikkei Special "Cambrian Palace" that has been shown on TV Tokyo(TV Hokkaido
TV Aichi,TV Setouchi and TVQ Kyusyu Broadcasting)on every Monday from 22:00.
The set has been redesigned from the airplay on 31st of Mar..

Concept for the new set is "Mountaintop". Casts sit down, on the top of 2.2 meter
high structure that's looked like a pyramid. And the pyramid is surrounded by towers
and steps of the ancient palace.
You just feel like you're looking at illusionism.

Taneda said, "It's an extraordinary space, and that make them give away their
true feeling. And I'd like them to talk sitting up here because they have worthful
stories to tell that we should listen to."

FILM  "THE MAGIC HOUR" and "Nishi no majo ga shinda" will be released in Jun. 2008

"THE MAGIC HOUR", the latest film of Kohki Mitani, Yohei Taneda worked on as Production
Designer and also "Nishi no majo ga shinda" directed by Shunichi Nagasaki, Yohei Taneda worked
on as Art Director will be released in Jun. 2008 in Japan.

Yohei Taneda worked on Kohki Mitani's last film "THE WOW-CHOTEN HOTEL", and he
continuously participats to the latest film as the Production Designer.
The scene for "THE WOW-CHOTEN HOTEL" is a big hotel, and the scene for "THE MAGIC
HOUR" is fictitious seaport town called Sukago.
The ambitious street built in a studio represents its' story, and is an important function.

"Nishi no majo ga shinda" is based on a best-selling novel of the same name written by
Kaho Nahiki that over one-million copies have been sold.
Shunichi Nagasaki, who has directed "Christmas in August" and "SHIKOKU" put a megaphone 
this time.
Sachi Parker who is daugher of Shirley MacLain plays a grandmother, the witch of the west.
She has been in Japan for 11 years and is proficient in Japanese.
New actress Mayu Takahashi plays granddoughter, Mai.
Yohei Taneda worked on as Art Director, made a house of grandmother where Mai stays at
during summer. It has built in Kiyosato, Yamanashi in Japan from May 2007 and did a shoot.
It will be released in Jun. 2008 in Japan.
Original piece has many fans and has won most of the literary awards in that year the book
was published.
Please come to the theater and feel how fantastic the story is.

       Production Designer Yohei Taneda talks, the origin of 'Production Design represents'


AERA mook 2008, "AERA MOVIE" Mar. issue (Japanese Magazine) has published.
It's contained that Production Designer Yohei Taneda talks, the origin of 'Production Design
represents'.

He keeps searching the way to make up the world for a film that make any people from any
country remember the good old days. The memory of his childhood sometimes helps him to
image and also he just walks in town, in the streets by himself.
As to review the progress in sets of many films that Yohei Taneda has worked on, he talks
where his motivation comes from and how he towards his ideal production design.

"SKYWARD" Mar. issue (Japanese Magazine),
The Inflight Magazine of the JAL Group has published.
Yohei Taneda has contributed to the magazine, 'TOKYO, imagine the city of fantasy'.

Nezu, Yanaka and Sendagi area in Japan is culturally-mixed place.
There are traditional shops and streets exist, such as figured paper store, public bath and so on.
Though they also have new style,too.
Yohei Taneda has created many fictitious rooms, buildings and towns until now. He goes on
a road of memories to think through the film he's worked on as Production Designer for the first
time to a film called "KAIDAN" that was released in 2007.

LECTURE  Free Lecture of Production Designer Yohei Taneda for Mitaka no mori Animation Festa 2008

On Mar. 16th, the 2nd part of Mitaka no mori Animation Festa "The quality of a film depends on its art" will hold
at Mitaka City Arts Center. There will be a lecture of Production Designer Yohei Taneda and the film show of
"THE WOW-CHOTEN HOTEL" that he worked on as Production Designer.
It's a free lecture but you need to apply with a postcard. (It will be accepted until Mar. 7th)
